Life seems so busy for everyone. Maybe it's too busy for us to realize that there is beauty all around us, even in unexpected places. As we see the various people that come into the Community Kitchen to eat and volunteer, we're in awe of all of them. They all possess different talents, outlooks, experiences and struggles they are facing each day. And in each of these individuals that come into The Kitchen, we see beauty. Take time to see the beauty that's in your life today.
We try to express our gratitude to our volunteers all throughout the year. But every August, we celebrate them at our annual volunteer appreciation picnic. This year about 115 of our volunteers joined us for BBQ and ice cream at Fairgrounds Park. We had a great time sharing a meal together and also handing out some door prizes. Thank you, volunteers! #Volunteers #appreciation
It is our pleasure to announce that Georgia Torson and Patty Kemper are our volunteers of the year. Georgia served on the Community Kitchen board for 5 years, served dinner once a month to our clients and brought a different level of fundraising to the Community Kitchen. Her great service and sacrifice for the Community Kitchen is very appreciated. Patty has been volunteering for The Kitchen for the past 3 years. She serves breakfast once a week, picks up bagel donations tw
